Roller Skate Aesthetic is an independent beginner guide to roller skating: how to buy skates that fit, what protective gear is worth wearing, how to stop, and where to practise. It is written and run by one person, not a shop and not a brand.
What to write about
Corrections. If something on this site is wrong, say so and say why. Skating advice gets repeated online long after it stops being true, and a correction with a reason behind it is the most useful message we can get.
Brands, shops and affiliate programmes. Partnership and programme enquiries are welcome at the same address.
Questions from beginners. If a page left something unanswered, that gap is worth knowing about — it usually becomes the next page.
How this site makes money
Some pages carry affiliate links. If you buy through one, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Every page that carries such a link says so on the page itself.
Nothing is recommended because it pays more. Gear that is not worth buying is described as not worth buying, and there are pages here that recommend spending nothing at all.
