Can You Roller Skate in the Rain?
You can, and the rain is not what catches people out — the surface is. Water on rough tarmac grips more or less fine; a painted line, a metal plate or polished stone goes from grippy to frictionless with no warning. Push softer, keep your wheels pointing where you are going, and never zip wet skates into a closed bag.

The wheel that slips out is usually the one you pushed off with. Everyone says slow down in the rain and almost nobody says push softer, but a hard push loads a wheel sideways for a fraction of a second — and sideways is precisely what wet ground will not forgive.
Wet ground does not remove all your stopping power, it removes one kind. Anything that turns a wheel across your direction of travel becomes unreliable. Dragging a foot behind you keeps the wheels roughly in line, which is why it still works when a sideways stop does not.
Afterwards, the bag is the real danger. Skates are built to roll on wet roads and getting them wet is not the mistake; sealing them into plastic afterwards is, because the water then sits against every metal part for hours. Loosen the laces, pull the tongue forward, and let air run through the boot.
