What Lives in a Skate Bag
A skate tool for the one nut that always loosens, spare laces, plasters for the heel, a water bottle, and a rag for wheels that pick up grit. Everything else is optional. The tool is the piece people forget until a truck rattles loose mid-session.
The skate tool is the one item that is not optional. Something always works loose — an axle nut, a kingpin, a toe stop — and without the tool the session ends there.
Spare laces and plasters. Laces snap at the eyelet where they bend, always mid-session, and the heel is where a boot rubs first. Both cost almost nothing and both save an afternoon.
A rag for the wheels, because outdoor wheels pick up grit that then grinds the bearings, and water, because skating is more cardio than it looks from the outside. Everything beyond this list is preference.
