Get Up a Curb Without Jumping It

You walk it. One push on your left skate, lift the right foot and place it on the curb, push on that right foot, and the left one follows. It is walking with a roll in between, and it is what an experienced skater recommends over jumping for anyone still nervous. Jumping a curb is a choice you make later, not the entry price for skating in a city.
You do not have to jump a curb to skate in a city. You walk it, and experienced skaters will tell you that is the better option while you are still nervous.
The move, exactly: one push on your left skate. Lift the right foot and place it on the curb. Push on that right foot, and the left one follows up after it.
That is walking, with a roll in between. The roll is what keeps it smooth instead of making it a stiff, stalled step up.
Jumping a curb is something you choose later, when you can already do it. It is not the entry price for skating anywhere that has pavements.
