You Can Machine-Wash Skate Liners. Never Tumble-Dry Them.
If your liners come out, they go in the machine on a cold, gentle cycle. Then they air-dry, and that part is not optional: heat destroys the foam and the liner never gets its shape back. It's the one skate-care mistake you can't undo - a wheel wears out, a bearing gets cleaned, but a cooked liner is finished. If your boot has a built-in liner, lift the insole out instead and dry that separately.
If the liners come out of your boots, they can go in the washing machine. Cold water, gentle cycle. That part surprises people, and it is the easy half.
The hard half is what comes after. They air-dry, and that is not optional. Heat destroys the foam. A liner that has been through a tumble dryer comes out shrunken and hard, it never gets its shape back, and no amount of wearing it in will bring it back.
It is worth naming this one plainly, because it is the only skate-care mistake on this whole site that you cannot undo. A wheel wears out and you replace it. A bearing gets filthy and you clean it. A cooked liner is simply finished, and it usually takes the fit of the boot with it.
If your boot has a liner built in and it does not come out, do not try to force it. Lift the insole out instead, dry that on its own, and open the boot up so air moves through the rest.
